What a fun evening i had with Kara and Seth capturing their CNU engagement session! They chose to do these at Christopher Newport University, because this is the place they fell in love during their senior year. It’s so special that because their story began here, they wanted to capture their engagement photos here, too. I loveddd getting to capture some of their favorite spots for them to remember how special this place is forever!

Kara and Seth met during their senior year at CNU. During their annual beach trip with friends, Seth took Kara outside for a little photo shoot. But it turned out to be more than that! Instead, it was actually a setup for his proposal. She said yes, and now they’re planning a gorgeous wedding day together!

CNU Engagement Session

I met up with Kara and Seth planning for a winter time feel for their portraits. We were actually met with a warmer afternoon for the month of December. It was just gorgeous out! We walked around and stopped to photograph some of the best places on campus, including the Great Lawn and the arches by the theater. With the Christmas tree out on the lawn, too, everything felt so magical and holiday inspired!

And I can’t forget to mention Kara’s pearls! She wore them during their session and it added the perfect classic touch to her outfit. But, they’re more than just an accessory. Her dad got her the necklace when she was born and every year, he’s added a pearl to them so that she can wear them on her wedding day. How special is that?!?!? I made extra sure to capture some ring shots with her pearls so they always have a beautiful memory of that special gift.
