What a beautiful wedding day Claudia and Derek had. It was our first time at Ford’s Colony, and we definitely already can’t wait to be back. Such a pretty venue with the most gorgeous natural light. I have to say it was the first wedding we have ever done that we didn’t have to use one flash alllll day! The reception ended while it was still daylight, and the windows in the reception room brought in plenty of light for us. 

From the very start of the day I was just in love with Claudia’s colors and details! The corals, pinks, and champagne gold were stunning touches throughout all of her photos. She even added a few things to personalize her day. Her grandmothers handkerchief, a vintage hand mirror, and piece of her mother’s wedding dress wrapped around her bouquet. 

Claudia and Derek had been together 4 1/2 years on the day that they were married! They both said in their questionnaire that even though they haven’t been together that long it feels like a lifetime, because they are best friends. Derek proposed after Christmas on their 3 year anniversary. Derek told Claudia they were going to Downtown Norfolk to have a family friend take some photos of them. When they arrived that’s when they saw their families walking up, and then Derek got down on one knee! It was so special that they could also see the Chrylser Museum from the bridge, which is very sentimental for Derek. His late Grandmother had art displayed there in the past. 

Soooo many wonderful moments through out their day! I really had a hard time narrowing it down to the ones that I picked to share. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Fimian! We wish you a lifetime of happiness!!!
