The Signet Center Wedding

Nhi + Kaven’s The Signet Center wedding was one of those days that just felt good to be a part of. From the big moments to the small ones, every detail reflected who they are—joyful, grounded, and surrounded by people who love them.

Nhi + KAven first met back in high school as seniors, then reconnected a few years later—and that was it….everything then just seemed to fall right into place. Last fall, during a weekend trip to Charlotte (something they do every year for the Alzheimer’s Walk in memory of Kaven’s grandparents), Kaven proposed. It wasn’t over-the-top or staged—it was just the two of them, on the porch of their Airbnb. Quiet, thoughtful, and exactly the kind of moment that sticks with you.

However, their wedding day was anything but quiet—in the best way!! After their ceremony, they kicked off the reception with a sparkler-lined grand entrance straight into their first dance, and the room lit up—with music, movement, and a lot of smiles. You could feel how ready everyone was to celebrate the two of them. Later, Nhi + Kaven changed into traditional Vietnamese attire and made their way around the room, stopping at each table to greet their guests and take photos—a meaningful tradition that brought such a personal, cultural touch to their celebration. Afterward, they changed back into their wedding attire and finally sat down to enjoy dinner…right before a funnel cake truck rolled up and became everyone’s favorite surprise.

What made this day extra special for me was having photographed the weddings of several of Nhi + Kaven’s close friends over the years. Getting to be part of their day felt like a full-circle moment, and I couldn’t be more honored to have been invited to capture it.
