Every wedding that we get to be a part of is special . Every couple has a unique story. Kayla and Adam certainly have a story to tell. Planning her wedding day, while being one of the happiest times in Kayla’s life, was also one of the hardest. This February Kayla lost her father unexpectantly. As someone who also lost her father at a young age I can completely relate to all she was feeling. My heart broke for her as I received her email about wedding planning being a little slow after all they were facing. I prayed often for her, and asked God to flood her with the HOPE of Heaven as she walked through the days ahead. Hope is the greatest thing we can have when we have lost a loved one. It is what gets us up each day with an expectancy for good to be in our future. I don’t know why things like this happen in this life, but I know this is not the end. Kayla – our daddies will welcome us one day with open arms. I know you, just like me, can’t wait to see them again.
Through the day, Kayla honored her daddy as much as she could. Holding his picture for a Bridal Portrait of was one of my favorites from the day. Another beautifull thing I remember happening was just as the ceremony was getting started, and everyone was bowing their heads in prayer I saw a butterfly fly right over the ceremony. I believe it was a little wink from Heaven.
As Kayla walked down the bridge and then to the end of the aisle you could see tears begin to form in Adam’s eyes. The other priceless moment was watching him hold Kayla in his arms as they danced to a song along with their guests that honored her father as well. Almost every guest there surrounded the couple in support of the memory of her dad. I certainly was fighting back tears behind my camera.
We have been to Vista Creek twice now, and have a 2020 wedding there too! We love the gorgeous venue, and Courtney and Jason could not be better vendors to work with. They always make sure their vendors and couples are above and beyond cared for. We love being there so much!
Well – I have written a small book about Kayla and Adam. Their story was just so special. I hope I honored it in writing this. As the reception took off it was so wonderful see the couple laugh, smile, and dance the night away. I am sure with the months that were in the past that this day full of celebration and joy was much needed for all that was there.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Minnick!
