This business of ours is something I truly treasure. Every client … every couple.. every family. Running a business full time, and wanting to put your whole heart into it can be daunting at times. While it is absolutely a passion that I try to give my ALL to… I often feel that I’m just not enough. That every part of it could be.. should be… would be better if i just did X Y and Z. Anybody relate?!?
We strive so much to serve our clients with excellence. It is a value I place on everything we do through RWP. I am constantly working to reach that goal in what we do. It is something I pray for personally, and I pray with our team before every wedding we capture. We want to do above and beyond what you all could ask, think, imagine, or hope for from us. Ephesians 3:20. This desire sometimes becomes more than just a prayer… it can become a weight I was never meant to take on. Can anyone relate? When I start to rely on my strength… my own abilities… and on others to help reach that goal I so often come up feeling less than. Or for better words…. overwhelmed.
I was reminded last night when listening to Elevation’s song “ Here again” that I am not enough. We are not enough. The words say “ I’m not enough unless YOU come.” Unless we invite Jesus to come along side us in this life we are ….and NEVER will be enough on our very own. Friends we aren’t meant to do this life alone. Fellow photographers and entrepreneurs we aren’t meant to run our businesses alone. God is so good and so faithful. I was reminded by those beautiful words of that song that HE is enough. When I am staring at a LONG to do list… the baby just woke up from her nap.. it is time to go pick up the preschooler… and hmmm what should we do for dinner is all weighing on me I need to remember that I am not enough, but HE always is.
“ But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
I hope this encourages someone today. I also hope you get to go listen to that worship song by Elevation, and it blesses you! May I also encourage you that this is something you may have to remind yourself of 10x or more a day. Life has a way of delpeting us at times, but Jesus said “I have come so that you might have life, and have it more abundantly!” John 10:10
Abundance is defined as to have a life that is abounding in fullness of joy and strength for mind, body, and soul. An abundant life” signifies a contrast to feelings of lack, emptiness, and dissatisfaction. A life that constantly is reminded that Jesus is and always will be enough.
This was from a sweet devotional I am reading called “ Find Rest “ by Shaunti FeldHahn
